When designing UI for digital ebooks such as this one, the objective is to translate the print design into a responsive digital design that maintains the look and feel of the print book. It's important to maintain a strong fidelity between the two formats, since the college students using these texts may be moving between print and ebook, or reading alongside classmates, peers and instructors accessing the text through various viewports. For this book, I worked with the production and development team to create a single-column responsive design that translated our original print fonts to alternate web-safe versions, changed CMYK color to an RGB palette, and resized and formatted content to scale to the responsive grid format. Additionally, I worked with the development and editorial team to establish guidelines for the interactive elements to be used for this specific title within the ebook platform.
